Career: Became eleventh Head Coach in the history of the Sydney Kings in November 2015…joined and progressed to interim head coaching role on 30 November after Damian Cotter was relieved from his duties…initially joined the Kings during the 2015/16 season as a Specialist Assistant Coach…first time an NBL club had hired a coach in such a pointed role…Head Coach of 'City of Gods' in ESPN's The Basketball Tournament where he led his side to the semi-finals…spent three seasons as an assistant coach and player development officer with the Washington Wizards…widely recognized for his work in developing young and rising basketball players…has helped develop many of the top high school, college and professional basketball players in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. area…routinely conducts offseason player development programs for NBA players…was a member of the Dakota Wizards' coaching staff during the 2010-11 NBA D-League season…served as a high school and AAU coach in the Baltimore, MD area from 2001-2009…his brother Dan joined the Sydney Kings during the 2014/15 season as an assistant coach and advanced scout…his brother Pat is the Assistant General Manager of the Phoenix Suns while his other brother Tim is the General Manager of the Denver Nuggets…was instrumental in developing grassroots basketball programs throughout the Baltimore area between 2001-2005.

Personal: Graduated from John Hopkins University with a master's degree in teaching…Joe's wife Ladina accompanied him to Australia along with their three children, Joseph (9), Asher (6) and Samaya (3).
